Prachtige expositie...... Great exhibition.....

van de quilts van Ada Struys bij "de Naaidoos" in Nieuw-Buinen.

Ik had ze al voorbij zien komen op hun site (klik), maar wilde ze toch graag zelf zien en dat was echt een genot om naar te kijken!

Kijk maar even:

I had seen them on their site (click), but wanted to see them for myself and that was a real treat!

Just take a look:

En dan te bedenken dat de maakster al 80 lentes is en alles met de hand heeft gemaakt in een tijd van drie jaar........ ik was sprakeloos.....

And to think that the maker is 80 years old and made them all by hand in a time of three years....... I was speechless......

Allerlei technieken; stoffen; kleuren, wat een creativiteit!

All kinds of techniques, fabrics, colours, what a creativity!

Ondanks dat de foto niet zo scherp is, zie je wel het licht eruit springen bij de linker Stack and Whack quilt; en de rechter mozaiek blijft maar draaien, he?!

Despite the bit blurry picture, you can see the light coming right at you from the left Stack and Whack quilt; and the one on the right (the mosaic) just keeps turning, doesn't it?!

En wat vindt je van dit prachtige pauwenpaneel? 

Ik kon het niet laten hangen..... ;)

Ondanks dat ik natuurlijk heb beloofd niets nieuws te beginnen, betekent dat natuurlijk niet dat je niets nieuws kunt kopen, toch??....  :)

Natuurlijk moesten daar wel wat stofjes bij, want de ideetjes begonnen wel te borrelen, natuurlijk....

Ofcourse I had to search for some fabrics to go with the panel, because the idea's started coming, ofcourse.......

Gisteren was het moederdag, waarbij ik heel lief bedacht ben, 

en van de hele plaat appelcake waren deze stukjes nog over. 

Gezellig!

Yesterday it was Mothersday, with lovely visits and gifts,

and of the entire plate of applecake, these pieces were the only ones left.

Great!

heb ik mezelf beloofd dit jaar eerst allerlei projekten af te maken.
Ben zo blij dat dat een beetje opschiet....
Wat kan een mens aan veel leuke dingen beginnen, die dan zomaar achter een kastdeur of in een bakje verdwijnen.
Eigenlijk wel jammer, he, want ik vond ze toch eens wel heel erg leuk om aan te werken en dan zomaar ineens...... over met de liefde...  ;)
Dus hier komen een paar AFFO's:

Actually it is a pitty, huh, because once I loved working on them and than all of a sudden..... the love is gone.....  ;)

Dit is Amar's quilt.

Allemaal oude scraps, op papier genaaid, met de hulp van Phoenix en Fenje (de twee Singer handnaaimachines), voornamelijk genaaid op de camping.  

Genieten!

All old scraps, sewn on paper, with help of Phoenix and Fenje( two ols Singer handcrankmachines), mostly sewn together on the camping. 

So much fun!

De bies werd eraan genaaid met Janny (de Singer 306, electrische naaimachine van de moeder van mijn vriendin Els).

The binding was sewn on with Janny (the Singer 306, electric sewingmachine from the mother of my friend Els).

De bies tegennaaien met de hand; altijd wel een hele klus..  ;)

Wel heel leuk, want dan is ze bijna klaar!

Handsewing the binding on; always quite a job.. ;)

But than she's almost finished!

En meteen in gebruik genomen!!  :D

And immediatiely taken into use!!  ;D

En deze gehaakte sprei is eindelijk klaar; daar heb ik niet zoveel over geblogd,

maar het was meer een tussendoor-indeauto-projektje.

This crocheted blanket is also finally finished; I didn't blog that much about it,

but it was more of an inbetween-inthecar-project.

En ook even van dichtbij..

Heel simpel patroontje; stokjes en steken overslaan.

Very simple pattern; dubble crochets and skipping some.

Er wordt nog steeds aan Love Entwined gewerkt (de gratis BOM van Esther Aliu-klik).

En het is echt heel verslavend (en ook wel intensief...), hoor! 

Heerlijk om te zien hoe het wordt.

De mosterd-kleurige stof , wordt de rand om het centrum.

Daar omheen komen de vier randen met hoekblokken;

en hier  heb ik de eerste twee randen af....

(de volgende twee liggen klaar om aan te beginnen).

And it is very addictive (and intense...), mind you!

So great to see how it takes shape.

The fabric beneath is a bit mustard-yellow and I will use that to surround the centre.

Attached there will be four borders and cornerblocks;

here are te first two borders finished.....

(the next two I've already prepared).

De spinnewebjes zijn ook gegroeid; het aantal is nu 43 diamantjes.

Met z'n drieen vormen ze een grote hexagon en dat lijkt toch wel heel grappig.

Echt een projectje om al m'n resstofjes in te doen; leuk!

The cobwebs have grown as well; the number of diamonds is 43 now.

Three of them together form a bigger hexagon and that looks really fun.

Eindelijk klaar....... Finally finished......

Ik denk dat ik wel drie jaar aan mijn klosjesquilt heb gewerkt.....
En eindelijk het spannende moment.....
Met al die rode, blauwe, groene lapjes....
Zou dat wel goed gaan in de wasmachine,
want dat moest ze wel: in de wasmachine..... ;)
Nadat ze zoveel jaar overal mee naartoe was geweest;
in de auto, op de camping, in kleine kinderhandjes (Nadeche vond het zo leuk om kleurtjes bij elkaar te zoeken... ;) ...) en ook nog onder de hond..... ;)
Hier ging ze dan!
I think I've worked for more than three years on my "klosjes"-quilt....
And finally this exciting moment...
With all the red, blue and green fabrics...
Would that be allright iin the washing machine,
because that's what had to be done.... ;)
After all of these years being dragged absolutely everywhere;
the car, the camping, in small children's hands (Nadeche loved to search colours together... ;) ....) and also under the dog.... ;)

Hoe snel de tijd kan gaan...... How quickly time flies by......

en hoe bezig je dan kunt zijn met heel veel dingen, he?!
and how busy one can be with so many different things, he?!

De afgelopen weken heb ik echt van alles in mijn handen gehad en weet je...... het is allemaal leuk om te doen!   ;)
These last few weeks a many projects came threw my hands and you know..... they are all so much fun!  ;)

Bijvoorbeeld de Love Entwined Quilt (klik).
Ons huiswerk van de laatste maanden is wel heel veel, zodat het mij niet meer lukt om bij te blijven, maar dat drukt de pret niet, hoor!
Het is een plaatje van een quilt en een plezierige uitdaging om eraan te werken.
For instance the Love Entwined Quilt (click). 
Our homework these last few months was extensive, so it's impossible for me to keep up, but that doesn't matter a bit!
It's a gorgeous quilt and such an enjoyable challege to work on.

En ook de kleine sterretjes-lap is gegroeid met twee rijen. 

Toch zou het leuk zijn als het nog wat groter wordt; ik houd nu één keer van grotere quilts...... :)

Het is dus nog een poosje een UFO...

Also the little stars have grown with two rows.

It would be fun to see it grow a bit bigger; I just love bigger quilts.....  :)

So it will be a UFO for a while....

Oh.... EEEENNNNNN:

de Sister's Choice Quilt (alias de KoningsQuilt)  is helemaal doorgepit op mijn machinale quiiltframe..... Joepie!!!!

Dat vind ik echt een succes!

Wat ben ik blij met het frame!!!!!  :D

Hier is één van de dekens, want ik wil er natuurlijk ook één maken voor de dochters..... dat snappen alle moeders wel, he?!

Here is one of the blankets, ofcourse I also wanted to make one for my daughters..... all you mothers understand, huh?!
