Allemaal kleurtjes...... All colors.......

Appliqueren is zo leuk!

Al die kleurtjes bij elkaar;

het blijft me altijd verrassen.

Je kunt wel een idee hebben van tevoren,

maar pas als je het totaal ziet, weet je of je idee klopte.

Altijd spannend......

Applique is so much fun!

All those colors together;

it keeps surprising me.

You can have an idea in advance,

but until you see the outcome, you never know if you were right.

So exciting......

Wat een leerproces is dit geweest.... en wat ben ik er blij mee!

The Rowdy Flat Library Quilt.....

Waar ik met zoveel plezier aan werk..

Deze prachtige applicatie-quilt van Susan Smith (klik)

Bovendien heeft deze quilt dezelfde naam 

als ons vorige hondje "Rowdy".

Dat heeft toch wel iets heel speciaals, hè?!

This one gives me so much pleasure..

It's also called  the same as our previous dog "Rowdy".

That gives it something special, doesn't it?!

Het is een blok van de maand (BOM)

en elke maand wordt zo netjes aangeleverd!

Elke maand krijg je een boekje met het patroon, aanwijzingen en lijst met benodigdheden; 

super hè?!

It's a block of the month (BOM)

and each month it's being delivered so neatly!

Each month you receive a booklet with the pattern, instructions and list of supplies;

isn't that great?!

Dit is maand 1; en heet "She has Wings".

This is month 1; and it's called "She has Wings".

Dit is maand 2 en heet "The Beekeeper"

:)

This is month 2 and called "The Beekeeper".

Maand 3: "Moving in Circles"

Month 3: "Moving in Circles"

Maand 4 bestaat uit de vier hoekblokjes (hierboven)

en de vier gepatchte blokken, die tussen de applicatie-blokken komen. (hieronder).

Month 4 contains de four corner-blocks (above)

and the four patched blocks; that fit between the applique-blocks (below).

Maand 5 is dan weer een groter apllicatie-blok: "The march of the Ladybugs".

Daar ben ik nog mee bezig...  ;)

Maand 6 heb ik al wel in huis, maar moet ik nog aan beginnen.  ;)

Het is een pracht van een quilt aan het worden!

En ik geniet zo van applicatie-werk;

eigenlijk alles aan quilten is leuk, hè?!  :)

I'm enjoying applique so much;

actually: everything about quilting is GREAT!   :)

Ik geniet ook zo van al de verschillende kleuren in een quilt;

maar ook in die van de natuur,

zo geweldig mooi!!

Terug....... Back........

Na een tumulteus jaar, ben ik terug met een nieuw berichtje... 

Terwijl ik dit jaar zo vol goede moed begonnen was, kwamen er al snel verschillende gezondheidsproblemen om de hoek. En dan wordt je echt wel even stil gezet...

Maar gelukkig; ik heb weer zin om een blogje te schrijven!

After a very tumultuous year, I'm finally writing a new blogpost...

Although I started this year so full of good intentions, there soon were some very different healthproblems to attend to. And my world came to a standstill..

But, thank God (and I mean that!!) I'm finally back!

En als je dan heel dichtbij kijkt, zie je de meest lelijke (naar mijn mening....) stoffen voorbijkomen. Ook flanel, geruwde katoen, seersucker, etc...

Stoffen die nu al lang in de prullenbak beland zijn; zolang was ik hiermee bezig.... ;)

Maar het geheel?

Ik vind het P*R*A*C*H*T*I*G !!

When you ook very closely, you see the most ugly (in my opinion...) fabrics.

Also flannel, brushed cotton, seersucker etc...

Fabrics that I threw away by now; that's how long I was working on this one..  ;)

But in total?

I   L*O*V*E   it !!!!

 
Ik denk dat Amar dat ook vindt...... Ze vindt het in elk geval leuk om elke quilt even "uit te  proberen"....
I think Amar thinks so too.... Anyway, she likes to "test" every quilt....

Gelukkig dat je in zo'n jaar toch kunt genieten van deze prachtige hobby, he?!

Dat heb ik ook echt gedaan; voor zover het mogelijk was.

En dus ben ik ook aan een nieuw project begonnen:

Wat wordt dat een leuke quilt! Ik geniet ervan!

Dit is blok 5 in wording. Ik zal er een volgende keer meer van laten zien.

I was so glad to have quilting for my hobby!

In all the turmoil of this year, that did help as well.

It's such a lovely quilt! I'm really enjoying it!
