eindelijk een berichtje van mij...
De maand januari is zelfs al helemaal voorbij... Wat gaat dat snel, zeg!
Maar even een korte impressie van enkele dingen waar ik mee bezig ben:

Caroline, de kleine Singer Featherweight, werkt aan de kleine Pine-appleblokjes ...

Het centrum van de Love Entwined is klaar......

The centre of the Love Entwined is finished.....

En er is een nieuw quiiltframe in huis.... (op de enige plek waar ie staan kon: de kamer.... ;) ...)

And there is a new quiltframe in the house..... (at the only place I could put it:the livingroom...... ;) ....).

Als je wat meer tijd hebt........ If you have more time to spend.........

komt er ineens ook meer uit je handen...... ;)

Dus misschien een kopje koffie en een show and tell!

it happens that there is more sewing....... ;)

So maybe a cup of coffee and some show and tell!

Fenje (een Singer 15K88, gevonden in de kringloopwinkel; en genoemd naar mijn geliefde Oma) staat hier heerlijk op de tafel in de tuin.

Na een schoonmaak- en oliebeurt doet ze het zo goed!

Eigenlijk is ze het stilst van al mijn naaimachines; een prachtig geluidje om bij te zitten.

Ik wist echt niet dat handnaaimachines zo mooi naaien en dat het zo'n plezier is om aan het wiel te (zitten... ;) ...) draaien!

En kijk eens wat ze naait: allemaal restjes (ensomsechtdelelijksteengekstestofjes..)

Fenje (a Singer 15K88, found in an up-shop; and named after my beloved Grandmother) is standing on the table in the garden.

After cleaning and oiling her she sews like a dream!

Actually she's the most quiet one of all my sewing machines; a beautiful sound to listen to.

I really didn't know that a handkrankmachine sews so gorgeous and that it is so much fun to turn the weel! :)

And just look what she's working on: all leftover fabrics (andreallythemostuglyestandcraziestfabrics).

Dit is wat ze naait; allemaal blokken van 10,5 bij 10,5 inch.
Gemaakt van 4 strips van 3,5 bij 10,5 inch; kriskas genaaid op telefoonboekpapier (wat zo gemakkelijk er weer af scheurt!)
Deze techniek wordt gebruikt door Bonnie Hunter van Quiltville (klik).
Als haar blog nog niet hebt bezocht, moet je daar echt eens kijken! Zoveel ideeen, tips en gratis patronen!!
This is what she sews; all blocks from 10,5 by 10,5 inch.
Made from 4 strips, that measure 3,5by 10,5 inch each. And sewn on telephonebook-paperr (it just tears away real easy!)
This technique is used by Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville (click).

En natuurlijk kwam maand 2 binnen van de Sweet William (BOM van Quilt it & Dotty - klik)

Zo'n pracht van een patroon, daar moet je gewoon meteen aan beginnen dan, he?!  ;)

And ofcourse month 2 arrived of the Sweet William (BOM by Quilt it & Dotty - click)

Such a beautiful pattern, I just had to start right away....!

en dit is blokje vier al weer tot zover....

and this is block four so far.....

Love Entwined (gratis BOM van Esther Aliu -klik) is ook zo'n prachtig patroon, waar je niet van af kunt blijven!!!

Er wordt hier al gewerkt aan de mooie puntjes rond het kompas.

En de (.....heeeeeeelveeeeeeeeel) onderdeeltjes van de eerste zig-zag-diamantjes-rand.....

En hoe je dat dan wilt doen, die zig-zagjes, he.....?!

Love Entwined (free BOM by Esther Aliu - click) is also such a gorgeous pattern, where you just cann't stay away from!!!

I'm working on the beautiful points surrounding the compass.

And on the (veeeeeeerrrrymaaaaannnyyy) parts of the zig-zag-diamonds-border....

And how one wants to make them, huh....?!

Deze tip kreeg ik van Gerda van Quiltpalace (winkel en blog-klik)

Ricky Tims'  Stable Stuff Poly; het kan door de printer, je knipt de onderdeeltjes en plakt het met de Sewline plakstift of je stof en rijgt het om.

De Stable Stuff Poly hoef je er niet uit te halen; als je het nat maakt of wast, wordt het een filmlaagje op je stof. Je merkt er nagenoeg niets van! 

Ideaal!!

This tip I received from Gerda from Quiltpalace (shop and blog- click)

Ricky Tims'Stable Stuff Poly; it runs threw your printer, you cut the parts and stick  it with the Sewline glue pen on you fabric and baste it.

You don't have to remove the Stable Stuff Poly; when you wet or wash it, it becomes a stof layer in your fabric. It's hardly noticed. 

Ideal!!

Zo grappig en lekker ouderwets!  ;)

Eigenlijk doe ik juist heel veel op quiltgebied.

sterretjes "schieten".......  ;)

EN: heel erg leuke, kleine ananas-blokjes maken!

Lief, he?!

Actually I'm quite active in the quilting area.....

Aren't they great?!

En dan heb je ineens een heel gezellige rommel op de tafel!

Een berg die bijna groter is dan dat lieve kleine naaimachientje....  :)

And then it happens there is an enormous pile on the table!

A pile that's almost bigger than that gorgeous little sewing machine.....  ;)

Even een pauze en een kopje koffie....... Just take a break and a cup of coffie......

want ik wil jullie even laten zien, waar ik allemaal mee bezig ben. (zal het wel niet allemaal laten zien, want dan komen we vandaag niet aan iets anders toe....... denk ik........; ben denk ik niet anders dan de meesten van ons....... ;) ........)

because I want to show you what I'm working on. (just don't think I'll show everything, because we won't be doing anything else today than....... I quess......; I'm not much different than the most of us........ ;) ......)

En wie was mijn hulpje met het maken van die leuke randen? Juist: Caroline (Josephine heeft even een pauze..... :) .....; als je ook zo oud bent...., toch?)

And who was my help in making those lovely borders? Yes: Caroline (Josephine enjoys a break.... :) ....; if you are that old........., huh?)

De mandjes liggen niet uit te rusten in de hoek, hoor! Ze gaan nog steeds braaf mee overal naar toe; net als de klosjes. Het is maar net waar je zin in hebt....!

The baskets aren't resting in a corner, mind you! They are still accompaning me everything, as are the klosjes. It's just what you feel like doing....!

En ook met dit lieve bloemenkleed ben ik nog steeds bezig; langzaam..... maar toch zeker.... Het wordt al echt een echt bloemenveldje...... heerlijk! :)

And I'm also still working on this lovely flowertop; slowly........ but surely...... It already looks like a real flowerfield...... great! :)

Allerlei............... All kind of..........

quiltigheden passeerden hier mijn handen, de afgelopen tijd. Ik ben nogal afwezig geweest door allerlei leuke en niet-zo-leuke dingen die mijn aandacht in beslag namen...... Sorry, dus!

Ik zal jullie even de foto's laten zien van alle bezigheden.

quilty things passed my hands lately. I was quite absent due to some nice and not-so-nice circumstances, who took all my attention....... So I'm sorry!

Allerlei speldenkussens. Wat een leuk karweitje!

All sorts of pincushions. What a lovely job to do!

En mijn hulpje om dit allemaal te doen..... Caroline. ;))

Eén van mijn hexagon-projecten; een veld van allerlei kleuren bloemen. Vrolijk gezicht, he?

One of my hexagon-projects; a field of all kind of coloured flowers. What a cheerful sight, isn't it?

Dit is het tweede project; alles in zachte creme en bloemen-stofjes..... Ook leuk, he?

This is the second project; all in soft creme and flower-fabrics..... Looks also nice, doesn't it?

En dit is mijn werk-doosje voor de zeshoekjes. Ik maak de zeshoekjes van voorgesneden kartonnetjes van een halve inch. De stofjes snij ik dan 4 x 4 cm, dat gaat lekker snel en werkt prima.

This is my working-kit for the hexagons. I make the hexagons from pre-cut cardboard, a half inch. I cut my fabrics into 4 x 4 cm, that works quick and great.

Hier zie je een paar kleine bloempjes naast het SBS-B5 blok; Grandmother's Flower Garden. Wat een verschil...

Here you see some little flowers next to the SBS- B5 block; Grandmother's Flower Garden. That is quite a difference.....

En natuurlijke werk ik ook aan het quilten van Leanne's House. Heerlijk ontspannen is dat toch!

And ofcourse I'm still working on quilting Leanne's House. That is so relaxing!

En de klosjes zijn ook altijd in de buurt. De top groeit en groeit...

De lay-out vormt zich ook al in mijn gedachten, maar dat houd ik nog maar even een geheimpje.... ;))

And the klosjes are always close-by. The top is growing and growing....

The lay-out is also forming in my mind, but I will keep that a mystery for now.... ;))

In elk geval een heel zonnige week!

Speciaal............. Special.............

Het is toch wel een speciale dag vandaag, he?! Ons land 65 jaar geleden bevrijd......... Dat doet me toch wel wat.......... Ieder van ons wel, denk ik!

En het is vandaag onze Dear Jane-update....... Bovendien was ik nog een update van de Featherweight Challenge schuldig; ik doe dat samen met Nat en Terry. (Het is ook leuk om even bij hen te kijken...)

It is quite a special day today, isn't it? Our country was set free 65 years ago..... I feel that as a special event...... Everyone of us, I guess!

And today is our Dear Jane-update....... I also am an update late about the Featherweight Challenge I am doing with Nat and Terry. (It is also fun to make them a visit..)

Eerst maar even de Featherweight Challenge; het is al weer de 4e update. Ik heb alles nog niet in elkaar genaaid (dat kwam vooral door het bezoek van Sjaan...... ^_^ .......). Maar ik kan jullie wel laten zien welke stof ik heb gekocht voor de randen. Echte Staphorster stof! Zo wordt het toch echt wel een internationale quilt........!

First the Featherweight Challenge; it is already the 4th update. I haven't sewn everything together (because of Jane's visit...... ^_^ .....). But I can show you the fabric I bought for the borders. Real Staphorster (= Dutch) fabric! It's really getting an international quilt.....!

Bovendien was Sjaan op visite en dat was toch zo gezellig! Eigenlijk... is ze nog niet weg........ En zijn we nog steeds zo leuk bezig met al die kleine lapjes...

That was quite some work, but I love to do those tiny little blocks! But all Jane-lovers probably totally agree with me........ ;)))

Bruidjes-quilt en andere heerlijkheden......... Bridal-quilt and other delicacies.......

Wat hebben we toch een heerlijke hobby, he?! Echt genieten; van de dingen die jezelf maakt, maar ook dingen die anderen maken. Ik moet toch echt eens zeggen hoe ik geniet van jullie allemaal!!

Echt waar!!

De laatste week ben ik vooral bezig geweest met Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, de SBS (kort gezegd..).

What do we have a beautiful hobby, do we not?! It's such a pleasure; enjoying the things you make yourself, but also the things others make. I really have to say how I enjoy all of you!!!!

I really do!!!

The last week I was especially working on Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, the SBS (short for..).

Hierboven zie je hoe het lijkt als de tweede rij onder de eerste is genaaid! Het lijkt al heel mooi zo, he?! Dan begint het meteen te kriebelen om flink door te gaan........ Maar er zijn natuurlijk nog meer dingen te doen...... (jammer....!)

De afgelopen weken heb ik maar drie blokken gedaan en één ervan is een mandjes-blok..... :) ..... (leuk he, op mandjes-woens-dag.....)

Maar even stuk voor stuk:

Above you see how it looks when the second row is sewn onder the first! Doesn't it look lovely? It really pushes me to go on......... But obvious there are more things to do...... (a pity..!)

The last weeks I only did three blocks and one of them is a basket-block...... :) ...... (isn't that great on this basket-wednes-day...).

En ik wilde nog de klosjes-lap laten zien. Het komt er iedere keer niet van en toch schiet ze al lekker op. ....

And I wanted to show you my klosjes-quilt. I always seem forget to show her to you and in the mean time she is starting to become quite big....

En nog een paar die ik er nog aan toe moet voegen..... Ik heb het totale aantal nog niet geteld..... sorry..... volgende keer...
