Wat is de Love Entwined toch een prachtige quilt en wat houdt het velen van ons in haar ban!  :)
Ook ik ben bezig met deel 3 van deze mooie BOM door Esther Aliu (klik).
Dank zij de Apliquick worden de hartjes wel heel mooi precies.
Kijk maar eens:

Thanks to the Apliquick these little hearts turn out to be beautifully precise.

En dank zij Ricky Tim's Stable Stuff Poly hoef ik het "papiertje" er later niet meer uit te halen. Als je het nat maakt, wordt het een dun laagje en merk je er niets van!

And thanks to Ricky Tim's Stable Stuff Poly I can leave the "paper" inside. When it gets wett, it leave a little soft layer; you hardly notice it!

En Gerda van Quiltpalace heeft groot nieuws rond de Love Entwined!

Wel een heel werk de zig-zag-rand... 

Ik ben blij dat die er op zit (en dat ik al die wybertjes er niet weer uit hoef te halen.....).

P.s. En net staat er op de Yahoo-groep van Esther Aliu dat de eigenlijke Mariage Coverlet uit 1790, waar Love Entwined naar getekend is, is GEVONDEN!!!

Dat is pas echt GROOT NIEUWS!!

P.s. And just now the Yahoo-group by Esther Aliu mentiones that the real Mariage Coverlet, dated 1790, where Love Entwined is drawn from, has been FOUND!!!!

And that is certainly GREAT NEWS!!

Ondertussen zitten de bloemetjes ook rond het kompas en taartpuntjes.

Wappert het hier niet gezellig aan de lijn...?

Ik vind het echt een pracht van een BOM van de hand van Esther Aliu (klik)

In the meantime I aplliqued the flowers around the compass and the pie slices.

Doesn't it look great in the wind....?

Even het centrum van dichtbij laten zien.

Het is echt leuk om steeds de kleuren erbij te zoeken.

Je ziet zoveel verschillende kompassen en ik kan echt zeggen dat ik ze allemaal prachtig vind!!!

It is a real treat to search for new colours to go with what there is already.

There are so many different compasses and I think they are  all beautiful!!!

En zaterdag kreeg ik toch een enorme verrassing van mijn zus! (eigenlijk schoonzus....., maar het voelt als mijn zus....;)  ....)

We waren bij mw. Francisca van der Wal, de poppen- en berendokter in Tweede Exloërmond (klik).

En ik had daar een  hele tijd terug al een pop gezien die ik echt heel mooi vond.

Uit 1930, gemaakt in Duitsland; en een plaatje!!!

En  die kreeg ik dus nu als KADOOTJE!!!!

Onnodig te zeggen hoe blij ik me voelde, natuurlijk......!

Saturday my Sister (actually my sister-in-law...., but she feels like my sister... ;)  .....) gave me a very big surprise!

We were at the house of mrs. Francisca van der Wal, the doll- and beardoctor at Tweede Exloërmond (click).

I had seen a very beautiful doll there, a while ago and I really loved that one.

From 1930, made in Germany; and really gorgeous!!!

And I got her as a PRESENT!!!!!

Unnecessary to say how happy I felt ofcourse...!

Hier is ze in haar (60-er jaren) poppenwagentje; onder een prachtig oud gepicoted (als je dat zo schrijft...) dekentje.

Wat een prachtige dag!

Nog een dikke knuf, zussie!!!

Weer tijd om met de bal te spelen...
Alleen heeft het vrouwtje daar nu even geen zin in....
Die denkt alleen aan quilten......... Nou ja.....

Only my female doesn't want to.....
She only thinks about quilting......... Well.....

En mocht je een pop of beer hebben die een dokter nodig heeft.......
Dan is dit het beste adres; een prachtig mens met een enorm hart; en een heel goede "dokter"!!

Doordat ik de Apliquick-gereedschappen eerst wilde leren gebruiken, duurde het even voordat ik verder kon met Love Entwined, maar nu is het eindelijk zover!

Because I wanted to learn how the Apliquick-tools worked first, it took some time before I could continue with Love Entwined, but I finally got there!
And I do love it!  :)

Ik wilde toch wel graag de steeltjes appliqueren...

I really wanted to try and applique the stems....

Zo lijkt het dan met een paar meer.... en binnen (de lichtval is dan ook anders...)....

wat voor kleine stukjes je met die nieuwe uitvinding: Apliquick kunt doen!!

De kleinste applicatie-vormpjes worden een stuk gemakkelijker!

which little pieces you can accomplish with this new invention: Apliquick!!

The smallest pieces are just so much easier!

Gerda van Quiltpalaca (klik) had me uitgenodigd om mee te gaan naar een workshop hierover.

Het werkje hierboven hebben we geoefend (en thuis afgemaakt...).

LEUK!!!!

Gerda from Quiltpalace (click) invitied me to join her in this workshop.

The piece above we practiced (and finished at home...).

Dit is een rondje van 8 mm; een bloemhartje voor blokje 6 van de Sweet William.

En deze respectabele dame van 77 jaar oud, wil ik jullie ook nog graag voorstellen:

Yvonne (van Budel).

Ze is een Singer 15K88 trapnaaimachine en hetzelfde model als Fenje (de handnaaimachine) uit het vorige blogje.

We hebben haar gevonden op Marktplaats en woensdag opgehaald uit Budel 

(vandaar ook haar "achternaam"...)

Na een schoonmaak-, olie- en afstelbeurt naait ze als nieuw!

Ik wilde dit al zolang proberen en het is echt heerlijk om te doen!

And this respectable lady of 77 years old, I also would like to introduce to you:

Yvonne (from Budel).

She's a Singer 15K88 treadle machine and the same model as Fenje (the handkrankmachine) mentioned in the previous blogpost.

We found her threw "Marktplaats"(a kind of Craigslist...) and collected her from Budel (place in the Netherlands; that bacame her lastname.......)

After a cleaning-, oiling- and adjestmentworkout she sews like new!

I wanted to do this for a loong time and it really is great!!

p.s. en hier gebruik ik ook Ricky Tims' Stable Stuff Poly, want dat hoeft er lekker niet meer uit; je hoeft het patroon niet te spiegelen (!!) en wordt gewoon een heerlijk dun laagje; je merkt er later niets meer van! Geweldig spul!!
p.s. and here I also use Ricky Tims'Stable Stuff Poly, because you don't have to remove it or mirror the pattern (!!) and it becomes a really soft layer; you don't even notice it later! Great stuff!!

Als je wat meer tijd hebt........ If you have more time to spend.........

komt er ineens ook meer uit je handen...... ;)

Dus misschien een kopje koffie en een show and tell!

So maybe a cup of coffee and some show and tell!

Fenje (een Singer 15K88, gevonden in de kringloopwinkel; en genoemd naar mijn geliefde Oma) staat hier heerlijk op de tafel in de tuin.

Na een schoonmaak- en oliebeurt doet ze het zo goed!

Eigenlijk is ze het stilst van al mijn naaimachines; een prachtig geluidje om bij te zitten.

Ik wist echt niet dat handnaaimachines zo mooi naaien en dat het zo'n plezier is om aan het wiel te (zitten... ;) ...) draaien!

En kijk eens wat ze naait: allemaal restjes (ensomsechtdelelijksteengekstestofjes..)

Fenje (a Singer 15K88, found in an up-shop; and named after my beloved Grandmother) is standing on the table in the garden.

After cleaning and oiling her she sews like a dream!

Actually she's the most quiet one of all my sewing machines; a beautiful sound to listen to.

I really didn't know that a handkrankmachine sews so gorgeous and that it is so much fun to turn the weel! :)

And just look what she's working on: all leftover fabrics (andreallythemostuglyestandcraziestfabrics).

Dit is wat ze naait; allemaal blokken van 10,5 bij 10,5 inch.
Gemaakt van 4 strips van 3,5 bij 10,5 inch; kriskas genaaid op telefoonboekpapier (wat zo gemakkelijk er weer af scheurt!)
Deze techniek wordt gebruikt door Bonnie Hunter van Quiltville (klik).
Als haar blog nog niet hebt bezocht, moet je daar echt eens kijken! Zoveel ideeen, tips en gratis patronen!!
This is what she sews; all blocks from 10,5 by 10,5 inch.
Made from 4 strips, that measure 3,5by 10,5 inch each. And sewn on telephonebook-paperr (it just tears away real easy!)
This technique is used by Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville (click).
If you haven't seen her blog yet, you should really take a look! So many idea's, tips and free patterns!!

En natuurlijk kwam maand 2 binnen van de Sweet William (BOM van Quilt it & Dotty - klik)

Zo'n pracht van een patroon, daar moet je gewoon meteen aan beginnen dan, he?!  ;)

And ofcourse month 2 arrived of the Sweet William (BOM by Quilt it & Dotty - click)

Such a beautiful pattern, I just had to start right away....!

en dit is blokje vier al weer tot zover....

and this is block four so far.....

Love Entwined (gratis BOM van Esther Aliu -klik) is ook zo'n prachtig patroon, waar je niet van af kunt blijven!!!

Er wordt hier al gewerkt aan de mooie puntjes rond het kompas.

En de (.....heeeeeeelveeeeeeeeel) onderdeeltjes van de eerste zig-zag-diamantjes-rand.....

En hoe je dat dan wilt doen, die zig-zagjes, he.....?!

Love Entwined (free BOM by Esther Aliu - click) is also such a gorgeous pattern, where you just cann't stay away from!!!

I'm working on the beautiful points surrounding the compass.

And on the (veeeeeeerrrrymaaaaannnyyy) parts of the zig-zag-diamonds-border....

And how one wants to make them, huh....?!

Deze tip kreeg ik van Gerda van Quiltpalace (winkel en blog-klik)

Ricky Tims'  Stable Stuff Poly; het kan door de printer, je knipt de onderdeeltjes en plakt het met de Sewline plakstift of je stof en rijgt het om.

De Stable Stuff Poly hoef je er niet uit te halen; als je het nat maakt of wast, wordt het een filmlaagje op je stof. Je merkt er nagenoeg niets van! 

Ideaal!!

This tip I received from Gerda from Quiltpalace (shop and blog- click)

Ricky Tims'Stable Stuff Poly; it runs threw your printer, you cut the parts and stick  it with the Sewline glue pen on you fabric and baste it.

You don't have to remove the Stable Stuff Poly; when you wet or wash it, it becomes a stof layer in your fabric. It's hardly noticed. 

Ideal!!

Zo grappig en lekker ouderwets!  ;)

En klaar is het kompas! Met ring en dotjes en al....!

Wat kun je daar dan blij mee zijn, he?

And my compass is ready! With circle and dots and all...!

Doing a happy dance...... yeah!

Hier even het proces terug laten zien...

Halverwege de ring met alle dotjes.... (ongeveer 8 mm. per stuk...)

Halfway the circle with all tiny dots...... ((a tiny bit more than a 1/4 inch...)

En deze prachtige bloem kwam uit de cirkel waar  het kompas hoorde te zitten (puur toevallig..)  :)

And this gorgeous flower was cut out the circle where the compass would be (pure coincidental)   :)

Hier zie je nog een stukje reverse applique van de ring op het kompas.

En even iets meer dichterbij....

En hoe kun je nu een ring, met alle naadtoeslagen, netjes overbrengen op de stof.....

Nou, gewoon: met olifanten-slurfjes....... (LOL)......

And how to draw the circle , with all the seam-allowances, neatly to the backgroundfabric.....

Well, just use elefants-trunks....... (LOL).....

Hoe een kompas je richting kan bepalen......he?! How a compass can determine your direction....... hey?!

Maar wel een heel leuke kant op..... ;)
Ben blij dat het kompas van Love Entwined (klik) is gelukt!
(nou ja, de rand nog..)
Ik denk dat dit me wel de goede kant opstuurt..... :)
But it sure is a nice direction..... ;)

Verder gaan we vandaag maar eerst even verder doorpitten aan de klosjes; die is al bijna op de helft.

Gaat toch best nog wel snel, he?

En het is toch wel heel leuk dat je zoveel verschillende onderdelen hebt met quilten en patchwork!

Daar kan ik toch zo van genieten; je verveelt je echt nooit!

Now I will continue quilting on the klosjes; it's almost halve done.

This is going rather fast, hey?

And it is such fun that there are so many different stages in quiting and patchwork!

I enjoy that so much; it never gets bored!
